Several hundred spectators watched the action from the normal spectators area, enjoying give-aways from Norrøna, Sweet Protection, House of Hygge and Kong Vinter.

The youngest kids skied the lower third of couloir 1, and Røldal local Kamilla Bratteteig (11) scored a 6,8 out of 10 to secure the win.

In the boys class, Røldal local Ådne Kvåle took the win scoring 7,5. Local favorite Vetle Gangeskar took a “Grøgaard” and lost the victory on the last cliff. Lots of the boys under 12 charged super-hard and impressed the judges.

The young teens classes were also dominated by Røldal locals, with Synnøve Medhus scoring 8, and Arve Hagen scoring an impressive 9 from halfway up couloir 1. Arves run included three big drops, great turning control and speed control, This kid is only 13, watch out for him! Contestants from all over southern Norway battled it out on the steep, icy face.

After Røldal kids had won four of five classes, the pressure on the locals in the boys 16-18 class was massive, and the locals wiped out one after one. The Vågå crew took the victory in the end, with Øystein Aasheim showing that you do NOT have to be old to be a good freeskier. Everyone in the top five would have meda podium spots in a normal Norway Freeride event, so to all you “oldies”, watch out, there are new kids on the block!
